LinkedIn Company Profile Picture Size

Your LinkedIn company profile picture is the square image that travels with everything your page does: 300 x 300 pixels, shown beside every post, in search results, on employee profiles and in invitations. LinkedIn uses the same file as your page logo, so the question is less about the number and more about surviving the crop at every size it appears.

    The hardest test.

One square, many placements

The picture you upload is scaled down far more often than it is shown large. It appears at the top of your page, next to every post in the feed, in the 'Experience' section of every employee's profile, in search results and in event invitations. A design that only works at 300 pixels will be a grey smudge in most of those places.

The practical test is to shrink your export to 48 pixels and look at it. If you cannot tell what it is, remove detail: drop taglines, thicken strokes, increase contrast and rely on one strong shape.

Cropping behaviour

LinkedIn does not crop a square file, but it does round the corners of the container and, in some surfaces, inset the image slightly. Anything sitting hard against an edge or in a corner can be clipped, so keep roughly 12% of the width clear as padding on every side.

Non-square uploads are fitted into the square and padded, which usually produces uneven bands. Export a square yourself so you control the spacing.

File recommendations

PNG at 300 x 300 is the safest export for a mark or monogram: flat colour and hard edges stay crisp through LinkedIn's compression. Use JPG only if the image is photographic. Keep the file well under the 4 MB ceiling — a clean 300-pixel PNG is usually a few dozen kilobytes.
