Which shape should you choose?
Landscape at 1200 x 627 is the safe default: it matches LinkedIn's link-preview proportions and never gets an awkward crop. Square at 1080 x 1080 occupies more of the feed on both desktop and mobile, which tends to help visibility, and portrait at 1080 x 1350 goes further still — though very tall images are trimmed on desktop.
Consistency matters more than the exact pick. Choose one shape per campaign so your feed presence looks deliberate, and keep any text large enough to read at feed width on a phone.

Multi-image posts

Keep each image under 5 MB. LinkedIn compresses uploads, and starting from a clean, correctly sized export survives that compression far better than an oversized original. PNG suits graphics with text; JPG suits photography.
