LinkedIn Article Cover Image Size
A LinkedIn article cover image is 1200 x 644 pixels, close to the 1.91:1 shape used for link previews across the web. It appears full width at the top of the article and cropped inside the feed, so the centre of the image is the part you can rely on being seen.
LinkedIn article image dimensions
| Recommended size | 1200 x 644 pixels |
|---|---|
| Aspect ratio | About 1.91:1 |
| Maximum file size | 10 MB |
| File types | PNG, JPG |
| Feed crop | Tighter than the article header |
One image, two crops
The header shows nearly the whole image, while the feed preview crops it. A face or product placed at the edge can be halfway out of frame in the feed even though the article page looks fine.
Keeping the subject centred and avoiding small text solves both at once. If you want a title on the image, set it large and central.
Frequently asked questions
- What size is a LinkedIn article cover image?
- 1200 x 644 pixels, roughly 1.91:1, under 10 MB.
- Why does my article image look cropped in the feed?
- The feed preview uses a tighter crop than the article header. Keep the subject near the centre.
- Do articles need a cover image?
- It is optional, but articles without one show as plain text in the feed and attract far less attention.
